May 2015

Thanks to Super Why, the boys are currently OBSESSED with the alphabet. They know all the upper case letters and can recognize most of the lower case letters. I bought these bath letters and numbers and they are their favorite toys. Every day they have a new favorite letter that they carry around the house with them. Their favorite book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Cooper with his letters.

Here are the boys playing an app that Jason downloaded for them. It is called Endless Alphabet and they LOVE it. It has them spell words and teaches the sounds of each letter, etc.

Here is Cooper trying to share his love of the alphabet with his sister.

Aunt Sarah sent the boys some paint with water books to help entertain them while I take care of their sister.
I love Bennett's (blue) expression in this picture.

Tessa has a very strong neck now and rarely likes to lay her head down now. So her snuggling with me and laying her head on my chest was a fun treat.

She is such a happy girl. :)

The boys watching a show while they are waiting for me to get ready for church. Bennett is standing, Cooper is laying on the chair.

It never ceases to amaze me how kind and loving the boys are toward their sister. If she grabs their shirt or kicks the game they are trying to play, instead of flipping out and hitting (like they would if their brother did the same thing) they just gently move away or look up at me to fix the problem. They seem to sense that she doesn't understand and is not trying to bother them. They also fight over who gets to throw her diaper away (and the one that doesn't always bursts into tears). They love fetching things for her as well such as her bottle, binkie, etc.
On this occasion, Cooper had just come upstairs and noticed Tessa on the bed by herself. So he climbs up and just sits there with her.

For Mother's day this year, Jason bought me some brand new pots that we desperately needed. (We have been using some that I got when I first moved out for college.) And he cooked this delicious meal.

Isn't he so cute in this apron that I made when I was in middle school? :)

The boys are excellent at giving thumbs-up now too. It's one of my favorite things. :)
Bennett

This was when Cooper wasn't so good at thumbs-up and so he would use his pointer fingers. He was so excited that he couldn't keep his hands still.

Another tender moment between Cooper and Tessa. When he notices her doing tummy time, often he will get right down there with her to keep her company. He also loves it when she starts to coo. It gets the biggest smile on his face.

Normally the boys sit all the way back in the chair, so this made me giggle when Cooper was sitting at the very edge.

The boys love their little sock monkeys they got from Grandpa & Grandma Damstra for Christmas. So when Grandma Williams got Tessa a pink one, they got very excited. Bennett makes sure that wherever Tessa is, she has her monkey.

We had about two weeks of rain recently. Due to this, we discovered that we had a hole in our foundation that leaked.  Luckily it is just behind the paneling we put up instead of the drywall. But because it wouldn't stop raining, Jason couldn't patch it until it dried up. He rigged this contraption to catch the water until he could fix it. It has worked surprisingly well.

A tender moment between father and daughter in the wee hours of the morning. (About 3:30 am).

Aunt Crystal had brought Tessa some cute Ruffle Bums when she came to visit.
