G&G Damstra Visit: Day 3 Cornbellys

On day three of their visit, Grandpa had a surprise for the boys. They were asked to close their eyes while he got it out.

It's a new Thomas the Train set!

It had to be opened and played with immediately.

After a leisurely morning of playing with the trains, we loaded up in the car and headed to the Curiosity Museum.

Even though we have passes, we don't go to this museum as often as the boys would like because it's hard for me to keep track of all three kids by myself. (We normally go to the other three venues on our passes.) So the kids were stoked.

We came home for a late lunch of Panda Express, then met Jason at Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point. We have never been before so had NO IDEA how much there was to do. It was so much fun!

Tessa loved the tire horse swings.

The jumping bubble was fun for the boys.

Tessa also loved going down this slide over and over again. In fact, when we were headed elsewhere she had a melt down.

The classic fall activity: a cornmaze.

Tessa can't resist a chance to cheese it up for the camera.

To make the maze more enjoyable, they have scratch cards and you play bingo finding the different stations.

But after walking around seemingly aimlessly for a few minutes, the kids got bored. They begged to be carried and leave the maze.

We got a bingo! So Cooper spun the wheel to see our prize. Each of the boys got a piece of candy.

There was a robotic chicken show right outside the maze. It held Cooper's interest...

Then onto the corn pit.

It took Tessa a while to warm up to having corn between her toes, but once I climbed in with her, she decided that she liked it.

Jason burying Bennett.

Tessa wanted to be buried too. But she kept flinging corn kernels in her own mouth on accident, so she didn't think that was fun for too long.

Bennett and I on a tractor ride. Bennett's face cracks me up. (Tessa was in our cart as well.)

Imy, Cooper, Jason, and Grandpa

It was beautiful with the sun setting.

Cooper found an old firetruck and immediately had to climb in. Bennett soon followed and I had to literally drag them out. They loved it.

One last group shot before we head home.

Tessa got carried out by Grandpa. Can you tell it was past her bedtime?

G&G Damstra Visit: Day 2 Heber Creeper

The first time I told the boys G&G Damstra were coming to visit, they immediately asked if we were going on the "choo-choo train". They remembered the Heber Creeper from their last visit over a year ago.  It's what started their love of trains. Obviously we had to go on it again.

Waiting to board the train (Cooper on the left, Bennett on the right)

Right before boarding. It was a BEAUTIFUL day.

The boys were a little eager to board. ;)

As soon as the yellow stool came down, they were the first to climb aboard.

Can you feel their excitement?!

Tessa and I got our own benches for most of the train ride.

Cooper needs to work on his "cheese" smile...

One of the beautiful scenes we passed. This is where a robber stopped the train.

She's looking for the box of cash.

The robber was upset that in the box was a squeaky pig instead of money, so she was looking for a hostage. She asked me some questions and then decided that I wouldn't be very useful so let me stay.

Cute Bennett

Time for lunch!

Waiting for our tickets to get punched.

Quick stop at Vivian park while the train got turned around.

Loading up again.

On the way back Imy wanted to see the scenery out my side of the train so, of course, all the kids followed her and Dad got a bench all to himself. He took a nap.

Well, took a nap until Cooper decided to wake him up and he got tickled.

After the train ride we decided to go for a drive in the canyon since we were there already. It was the perfect day to do it too. It was really warm and pleasant, yet all the leaves were already starting to turn so the hills looked like rainbows. It was breath-taking.

We stopped at Walmart on our way home to grab supplies for a BBQ. My dad made the mistake of letting Imy and I go in by ourselves while he stayed in the car with the kids. She couldn't resist spoiling the grandkids some more so she bought the boys each their own Nerf gun with extra darts. Tessa got a water baby (which Bennett named "Baby Rose just like Tessa Rose!") and a crib for her baby to sleep in. Some assembly by Grandpa and his little "helpers" required.
