February Sewing

Once again, this is not a comprehensive list of my sewing projects, just the ones I remembered to document.

Had some candy hearts in a fabric mystery box so I decided to make Tessa a Valentine's shirt for Preschool.

Tessa's Easter dress. The first piece of clothing I have made with woven fabric (besides the infinity scarves.) I love how it turned out.

One of my friends wants to learn how to sew so I helped teach her make her son a Bronco's hoodie. I thought it turned out really cute and she did a great job. This was only the 3rd thing she has ever sewn. (We started out with her making leggings for her daughter and a raglan shirt for her son.)

Finally made Bennett his hoodie I promised him months ago.

Made this really cute romper for Milo. This is not the finished product. I ended up using snaps and then sewing different buttons over the snaps. I will be making him more rompers like this because I think he looks so stinkin' cute in it.

The pattern I have been waiting for finally came out so I could make Jason his Christmas present. He picked color placement. I like how it turned out.

Tessa has been begging me to make her a nightgown out of this Little Mermaid fabric for months now, so I finally did for her birthday.

Found this shirt on clearance at Target and had to get it for her since she is loving the Little Mermaid these days. Then I decided to sew up the skirt/capris to make it an outfit.

February 2019

At the beginning of February baby Leah got blessed and we were all able to attend and have dinner at the DeLongs afterward.

These cousins are so cute together.

We were having a crazy morning where everything went wrong. We were late getting out the door for school. I sent the kids to the car to buckle up while I grabbed some last minute items. Next thing I knew Cooper is screaming bloody murder and I go out to the car to see blood POURING down his face. I got everyone back out of the car and sent Cooper to the bathroom so we could clean him up. He had a blood trail follow him. All over the carpet & seat of the car, in the garage, thru the kitchen, up the carpeted stairs and hall, and then a blood bath in the sink. It took a good ten minutes for his nose to stop bleeding. Come to find out, Cooper said or did something Bennett did not like so he hit him. Probably not even that hard because there was no sign of bruising, red marks, or anything on Cooper. BUT in the dry, cold winter, my kids get spontaneous nose bleeds and I guess the hit was just enough to trigger one for Cooper.
By the time Cooper's nose stopped bleeding and we were able to change him into some clean clothes, we were about 20 minutes late to school. I dropped Tessa off at preschool first and when she started to climb out of the car she saw the blood all over the van carpet and stopped dead in her tracks to stare at it. Her teacher was standing in the doorway waiting for her to come so I wonder if she was able to see the blood too. I told Tessa to hurry out of the car before he teacher thought I had beaten one of my kids or something and then hurriedly sent her a text to explain that Cooper had a bad bloody nose, which is why we were late. I then had to walk the boys into the front office of their school to excuse them for being tardy and head back to the house to clean up. Oh boy...

Cooper asked me if it was okay for boys to wear headbands as well. I told him definitely. So he happily ate his spaghetti with his beautiful headband.

Cooper filling out valentines for his class.

This made me laugh. Cooper made this on the 100th day of school. It says: "My 100 is a balancer". The diagonal line at the bottom of the page is a tight rope and the little man is working hard on not falling. he is holding onto the barbell-looking thing to help keep his balance as we walks across. I LOVE the man's expression and the sweat all around his head.

Cooper thought he was so funny because he colored Washington "naked". I am assuming because the only color he used was peach.

Milo is so silly and likes to find creative ways to carry his binky.

Tessa helped me decorate for Valentine's day while the boys were at school. She colored all of the hearts.

Made the boys hoodies and their favorite part is that they can cinch them closed like this.

Milo was having a blast climbing into his diaper drawer and emptying it all out.

Sometimes Milo prefers drinking his bottle standing up. It ALWAYS feels like I am feeding a baby calf or something when he does this.

This silly boys likes to sit at the edge of his crib and dangle his feet when he is done with his naps.

Found Cooper's toothbrush like this one morning after dropping him off at school. I guess that is one place to put it...

Milo decided to poop right before we walked into Walmart one morning. Normally not a big deal except I didn't notice until my shirt started feeling wet. I realized he was leaking out his diaper. So I set him down in the cart so he could stand up instead of sit in his mess. That is when I noticed there was a lump slowly creeping down his leg inside his romper. He had managed to poop OUTSIDE of his diaper even though is bum was completely covered! (I am still confused how this happened.) Of course the only bathroom with a diaper changing table was at the very back of the store so I raced back there before it could soak in too much. I dumped the very juicy turd in the toilet, wiped poop-covered Milo down the best I could and rinsed out his romper in the sink. He hasn't had a blow out for a few months so I didn't have a change of clothes for him and of course it was snowing outside so I couldn't very well just leave him naked so I buttoned the top part of the romper that was still dry on him and tied the very wet part in a knot behind his back. We finished our shopping trip (and received some odd looks) only to realize I was going to be VERY late picking Tessa up from preschool. The poop incident made me loose track of time. I ended up calling our neighbor to pick Tessa up and made it back in time before I had to pick up the boys. It was an adventure.

Tessa's preschool teachers gave Tessa a huge sucker for her birthday. She was stoked.

She chose pink cookies as her treat for her class. She was eating hers in the car waiting for her brothers when I overheard her say "mmm. Scrumptious!" I have no idea where she picked up that word but it made me smile.

Tessa helping me rake our Spring leaves. I love the trees on our street but it's super annoying that they drop their leaves in the Fall, Winter, AND Spring. I wish they would just dump them all at once like nearly every other type of tree there is.

Two of my cuties watching a show.

Cooper drew me with REALLY long hair.

Butterfly Biosphere with Jason

After coming home from the Butterfly Biosphere with the Millers, the kids could not stop talking about how they wanted to take their dad there. So a week later we were back, this time with Jason.

The kids REALLY wanted a butterfly to land on them, but it never happened. A butterfly DID land on Jason and the kids thought that was pretty cool.

Watching the butterflies flying around.

Milo had the best seat in the house.

We happened to be there for a bug show. The kids thought it was pretty cool.

Bennett (left) and Cooper (right) with a millipede.

They had a baby section that Milo enjoyed.

Tessa's turn with the millipede.

They had a fire going when we walked out. The kids thought that was awesome.
