June 2017

The summer months are always busy for us and June was no exception.

Tessa was invited to her very first birthday party. It was a princess party and since she didn't have any princess dresses we made do with a tutu and some dollar store wings (which she didn't want to wear to the party but have loved ever since). She received a paper crown which has been very well loved, a ring, and a pink necklace that she lovingly calls her "Moana necklace" as party favors. The party took place shortly after our trip to Mexico, so she was worried I was ditching her again. She clung to me the first half of the party, but when she realized I was staying she did okay.

Cousins having lunch on G&G Webre's deck.

Jason took the boys kayaking with Jenny, Josh, and Hunter. I think they really enjoyed themselves.

Cooper rode with Jenny and Josh.

Bennett rode with Hunter and Jason.

Having church at 1 pm is really hard on Tessa. Sometimes we get lucky and she takes a nap before church, but when that doesn't happen, she is pretty exhausted. Sweet girl fell asleep while watching a movie one Sunday afternoon.

Trip to Farm Country!

Taking the usual tractor ride rocking some mustaches. (Bennett is in the middle, Cooper on the right.)

I was  on Facebook one day and Cooper sees this ad and says: "Look! Jesus is climbing out of the phone!"

Being silly with the kiddos. Tessa just woke up from a nap so she was a little grumpy.

I was informed that these critters were eating me alive!

Enjoying the nice weather at the park.

Cooper at the splash pad.

I asked Bennett if I could take a picture and this is how he posed.

The boys love to squirt people. Bennett is pictured.

There is a burst pipe or something by the splash pad that makes the perimeter super muddy and gross. Of course my kids prefer the mud puddles to the nice clean water of the actual splash pad.

Little stinkers.

Megan came to visit!! I have said this before, but I seriously love that it doesn't matter how long it has been between visits (about a year this time) we can always pick right up where we left off. Love her.

The kids seem to always get along fantastically as well.

And I finally got to meet Logan!

All of my kids adore our neighbor's little girl that I baby sit once a week. They decided that they wanted to hold her this time so they each got a turn. She was very patient with them even though she is super mobile and prefers to be on the move these days.

Tessa's hair dries pretty dang straight usually. But if you mist it (like with a sprinkler) it will curl up into ringlets. I love it.

Tessa's first time on the zipline that she didn't require me to walk along side her. In the past she asks to ride it and then gets really nervous once it's her turn. This time she rode it independently like a champ.

The kids like to eat "banana cookies" which is just sliced banana. I think Jason came up with the name and they thought it was awesome.

Tessa was quite excited about these "frogs" she found.

The kids love playing with potato bugs.

Tessa LOVES the ponies at Farm Country.

Watching the garbage man do his job. They are required to watch him sitting on the step so they are sure to be out of the way.

Jason had the Ipad in the sunlight and it was reflecting a light on the wall. He would bribe the kids to eat another bite of dinner by telling him the light would visit them if they did. It was very effective. :)

The kids are allowed to bring one toy into the car when we are running errands. Cooper lined up all of his favorite stuffed animals to pick which one he was going to take.

Cooper wanted me to take a picture of him being silly upside down. :)

Camping with the Cooks

This last weekend we went camping with the Cooks. It was the maiden voyage of our new 9-person tent. I loved that we all fit comfortably with room to spare!

We went up Spanish Fork Canyon without reservations hoping we could find a spot. The campground recommended to us was completely full or reserved. So then we drove further up the canyon with hopes of finding another random campground. We were successful! And it was way better than the full one. There was plenty of shade, it was right by the river, the bathrooms were super clean and nice, and they had a playground for the kids! Plus the camp hosts were incredibly friendly and attentive.

Jason wanted to go fishing right off the bat.

And the kids immediately took advantage of all the rocks along the edge of the river.

When the Cooks arrived we started preparing our hotdogs for dinner.

The kids thought it was fun to cook their own food.

The girls chilling

Cooper had fun "shooting us with fire" after he discovered the BBQ rotated.

Group shot!

Cooper roasting a marshmallow

Josh was the master 'mallow roaster.

Tessa was really excited about her s'more but since it was past her bedtime by the time we were eating so she was SUPER tired and we had to convince her to eat it instead of just holding it so she could go to bed.

Yum!

Bennett loved the water fountain and it cracked me up watching him drink from it.

After we put the kids to bed, we pulled out the waffle cones and filled them with deliciousness. (marshmallows, chocolate chips, berries, and toffee chips.)

That night was rough for Clara and Tessa, so the adults didn't sleep that great either. BUT Cooper and Bennett slept wonderfully. In fact, Bennett slept in long after the rest of us were awake and eating.

Jason woke up at the crack of dawn and went fishing. He said it was so cold his hands were numb, but he caught two large fish! So it was worth it.

Cooper warming up by the fire.

Breakfast was egg omelets. Josh made some tin foil bowls that worked really well. They were delicious!

After breakfast Cooper and Jason went fishing again. They caught a cute little fish that they released after this picture. Cooper was so cute and proud.

Tessa requested a sandwich. They are one of her favorite thing to eat these days. Notice the honey dripping all over her clothes. :)

We packed up camp and headed to the playground one last time. The boys were having a blast listening to Jason give them instructions through these things. ("run around three trees" "go down two slides" etc.)

That night for dinner Jason cooked up his fish. It was really yummy!

While I Was Away...

While I was in Chicago helping my mom, Jason took the kids up to Brigham City so his parents could help him out while he worked from "home".  Here are a few pictures I gleaned from his phone:

He took the kids to an animal park in Logan

Cooper and Tessa

They shot bottle rockets (Bennett, Tessa, Cooper)

And apparently kayaked in the garage with Grandma. :)
