We convinced G&G Damstra to come visit us! The boys were so excited that they asked nearly every day for two weeks if they were coming that day. But when the day finally arrived and we went to pick them up at the airport, they were shy and hid behind me. Fortunately they warmed up quickly.
Straight from the airport we headed to City Creek Mall for lunch.
Playing in the fountains.
I THOUGHT there was a Build-a-Bear at the mall, but apparently there isn't. So we stopped at a different mall on the way home. The boys have never had the Build-a-Bear experience and they are really into stuffed animals lately. They were a little confused at first, but caught on quickly.
They selected they animals: Cooper a dragon and Bennett a dinosaur. And moved on to stuff them.
Bennett giving a squeeze to make sure his new friend is perfectly stuffed.
Cooper testing out his dragon.
The heart ceremony
I think "washing" their new friends was their very favorite part. They spent plenty of time making sure they were nice and clean.
Ready to go home! Cooper named his dragon "Upsy" and Bennett named his dinosaur "Tops".
When we got home, Grandpa presented Tessa with a giraffe they had brought for her from Chicago. Grandpa is playing peek-a-boo with the giraffe in this picture, hence his expression.
Tessa loves to be tickled.
Jason bought a little Nerf gun that can shoot 90 feet. They were testing it out to see if it would hurt to be hit by it.
Cooper thought it was hilarious that he was allowed to shoot Grandpa in the back.
It was a fun first day.
