Texas Day 4: Aquarium and Christmas Eve

DAY 4:

Jason and Bennett headed out to the beach to collect shells while the rest of us were still waking up.

This is serious business

He was pretty successful.

 My handsome boys. :)

When he got back to the house, Bennett proceeded to hand out shells to everyone.

After everyone was awake and ready, we headed to the Texas State Aquarium.

Every visit requires a picture with a dolphin, right?

We came just in time for the dolphin show

Kaylee gets really into everything and it's adorable. My boy, on the other hand, does not seem impressed...

After the show we went down to see the dolphins under the water.

Kaylee wants to be a dolphin trainer when she grows up. So she was ecstatic that the dolphin seemed to be following her across the tank.

All the adults chilling while the kids ran around.

I can't remember what was in this tank that they were trying to touch. I think sting rays?

The seals

This tank was cool because you could actually touch jellyfish.

All the boys wanted to do was splash in the water. I tried to stop them because no one enjoys getting splashed, but it was not easy.

All of us!

We had Hawaiian haystacks that night.

And then since it was our designated Christmas Eve, Grandpa is telling the Christmas Story to all the grandkids.

Then we opened our Christmas jammies!

Showing off their new jammies. (Cooper left, Bennett right)

Everyone in their jammies

The traditional girls picture. This is a very unfortunate angle for me, however. This picture alone motivated me to start exercising again as soon as I got home.

The boys still playing their never-ending game of Axis and Allies.

Christmas all ready to open in the morning.

Texas Day 2 & 3: Beach House

DAY 2:

Heading Port Aransas in the tiny crossover. Poor Bennett in the way back had zero leg room.

The boys were a little excited about their new headphones... they weren't plugged into anything. Cooper said: "They help my ears stay quiet."

Of course, shortly after arrival the boys started up a game of Axis and Allies. Please note Cosi crashed in the corner on a bean bag.

Scott was in charge of watching her so he gave her a makeshift bed. I love it.

DAY 3:

In the morning all the Webres headed to check out the ocean. I really didn't think the kids would want anything to do with the water so we didn't bother changing them into swimsuits.

Boy was I wrong. They all had a blast chasing the waves and getting their feet wet.

Bennett

Cooper insisted on wearing pants so obviously they were drenched by the time we headed back.

Sweet Tessa

The tide was out so there were a lot of tiny little clam-type animals running around. (Yes, they were moving.) It was fun to watch.

We came back to the house and we all had a pretty relaxed time enjoying each other's company. I sure love my family.

Crystal and Cosi

Sarah was smart and brought a bin of Legos for the kids to play with.

Our view. Most days were pretty cloudy/foggy but still warm so I wasn't complaining.

Many games were played

Crystal has a huge tablet that entertained the kids.

That afternoon we all made it out to the beach. I was smart and put bathing suits on my kids this time.

Just a sampling of our fun. At the very end of the video you can see Tessa starting to get knocked over by a wave, which is why the video ended. I had to run out there and grab her. She avoided the water for the rest of the time.

Bennett and Jaxon have very similar swimsuits. It was fun watching them play together.

Jane and Tessa filling a bucket

The boys playing Spike Ball. Notice Scott being super dad with Cosi on his back.

Because it was so incredibly humid, Tessa's hair was curlier than I have ever seen it before. It was so cute!

The house has a heated outdoor shower to rinse off.

Love my sisters and this picture!

Grandpa wrestling with/ playing with the grandkids.

Cooper and Bennett crashed hard that night. Crystal went to check on her kids (who were sleeping in the same room) and told me that Bennett was using Cooper as a pillow. So I ran down to snap a picture. Love that they love each other!
