Sledding

The last several days we have woken up to fresh snow. Since clearly it wasn't going away any time soon I decided to embrace it and take the kids sledding. Actually it was Bennett's idea to bundle up and walk to the park the first day and we didn't have anything else planned so I figured why not? We grabbed the sled and headed out.
The boys took turns pulling each other on the sled. That lasted until the end of our street.

Since Tessa has the smallest legs, I suggested we just pull her instead so we could walk a little faster.

Bennett (I *think*) all ready to head down the hill.

Bennett was such a trooper and insisted that he pull the sled up all by himself every time he went sledding. He would slip and just get back up and keep going. He even let go of the sled once and it went all the way back down the hill. I told him to not worry about it, I would run down and get it and he could just finish walking up the hill. But he told me HE wanted to do it. So he went back down the hill to fetch the sled.

All three of my kiddos wanted to go down at the same time. (Cooper middle, Bennett front)

First attempt of all three did not go so well. I was trying to record and push at the same time so I sent them down crooked and they ended up going over a jump. Oops...

The second time was a little better. Bennett sat in the middle this time so he wouldn't fall out. But after that they decided they liked to go down in pairs or individually.

Bennett and Tessa went down together and they both made it back up the hill (with the sled!) without my help. They are getting so big!!

Heading home for lunch.

The next day was Saturday so we convinced Jason to come with us this time.

After watching Jason go off the jump, Bennett wanted to give it a try. He was only allowed to go with Jason to make sure he didn't get hurt. He loved it and wanted to go again. But Jason hit the snow pretty hard on the jump and didn't want to go a third time.

Jason suggested the kids go down the hill laying down. After watching her brother do it, Tessa insisted that she do it too. I was nervous how well she would do, but she loved it! Such a brave little girl.

Cooper wanted to go down on his back.

Family shot before calling it a day. I love that we live so close to Nolen Park. The hill there makes perfect sledding for our kids and when we are hungry or tired, we can just head home instead of having to plan ahead and pack a million things.

Heading home. After sharing a single sled two days in a row we decided we needed a snow tube as well. We are now waiting for it to arrive in the mail then we will have to go out again.
