While my mom was here for two weeks, we had several yard projects we were working on. One of which was the garden.
She equipped the kids with their very own gardening gloves and shovels.
Tessa makes a fabulous glove model.
Then they got to work getting the soil ready for planting. Really the garden was their project they worked on with Grandma while I worked on the flowerbeds.

Tessa LOVED playing in the dirt every chance she got. She would just sit there with her shovel and poke the dirt happily for a very long time. Sometimes she would run her fingers through the dirt or explore the taste and texture by diving face first into it with her mouth open. (Seriously. While most kids would pick the dirt up with their hands and then place it in their mouth, she just did away with the middle-man.)
Grandma showing them how to plant the seeds. (Bennett has been obsessed with this silly orange beanie for a few days now and insisted on wearing it even though it was 80*)
