Saturday morning was the parade for Pony Express Days.
I was very impressed how long all three of the kids sat on the blanket like this.
Of course their favorite part of the parade was all of the candy being thrown out. And there was A LOT! About half way through the parade the boys learned to yell loudly "candy, please!" so they could get more candy. Some people tossing candy heard them and gave them extra candy, others completely ignored the pleas of two adorable three year olds. But we still received more than enough candy and will probably end up throwing most of it away.
Tessa quickly discovered the deliciousness of candy and would grab two or three pieces whenever we were not paying attention. Then she would hold out her candy to Maryssa (our neighbor girl who has babysat the kids before) trying to get her to unwrap it for her. She knew Mom and Dad would say no. Luckily Maryssa noticed we were trying to limit her candy supply so she wouldn't help Tessa either. By the end of the parade we had the candy bag hidden from Tessa and she was still a super sticky mess.

The last "float" of the parade was this firetruck spraying everyone down. It was so hot out (in the high 80s) that getting soaked with a hose actually felt great!
He was really good with the hose too and if he saw you running away from the water, he was sure to make sure you got good and wet. Haha.
