Christmas in Utah

Since were travelling on December 25th, we decided to do our little family Christmas a few days early. On the evening on December 22nd we opened our Christmas Eve jammies. (Bennett left, Cooper right)

Jason was bonking me on the head with a piece of cardboard to get the kids to smile like this. I guess it was worth it. They are so cute!

After the kids went to bed the presents came out.

The next morning:

Cooper was always the first to be willing to open the next present.

After all the gifts were opened the kids played a game of fishing.

The aftermath...

Then it was time for breakfast. Jason got fancy and made them happy face pancakes.

Tessa is our pancake lover. She will eat 3 or 4 pancakes and beg for more.

The 24th was a nice relaxing day of cleaning the house and packing for our trip to Texas.
On the 25th we packed our bags into the car and headed to Grandma Sharp's house for her annual Christmas brunch. The roads were super bad and we saw over 10 accidents on our way to her house.

But we made it! The men headed outside when we arrived because everyone was getting stuck in the freshly fallen snow and sliding all over the place. It worked out well though because the women and children were able to start eating and were all dished up by the time the men came back inside so they didn't have to wait as long. Then it was present time:

Grandma Sharp is always good at spoiling everyone and this year was no different. The boys were super excited about their toys and were NOT happy when they found out they would have to wait for over a week to play with them since we were headed straight to the airport.

Despite the roads we made it to our gate with 15 minutes to spare!

And then we waited on the airplane for about an hour before taking off because of various delays. BUT with no layovers we didn't have to stress about missing other flights. The kids did great and love the plane now.
