Independence Day 2018

Happy 4th of July!

Tessa really wanted a picture of her holding Milo. She sure LOVES her little brother. These two melt my heart.

My cutie boys. :)

Milo is such a smiley baby it makes taking pictures of him easy.

After a quick photo session to document this year's patriotic outfits, we headed to the brand new park in City Center named Corey B. Wride Memorial Park. It literally opened the weekend before the 4th of July. It is really cool and has a ton of fun toys to play on as well as a splash pad.

Even though we went in the morning it was still SUPER hot outside so we took advantage of all the shade we could find.

This thing looked cooler than it actually was.

This spinning chair thing was fun as long as you don't mind feeling super dizzy afterward. ;)

Bennett looked like he was attacking the water fountain and it made me laugh.

But when he noticed I was taking a picture he just poised instead.

These green slides are surprisingly steep. It was fun seeing the kids' faces that were going down them for the first time and not expecting to go as fast. But everyone kept going back for more so apparently the initial shock didn't scare them away.

Cooper learned if you braced the sides you could control your decent.

After the park we cooled off back home with some library book reading. Tessa took a nap.

Then we decided to brave the Thanksgiving Point firework show for the first time.

We had no idea what to expect and decided it was going to be a learning experience.

There were definitely a million people around but it was festive and fun. It wasn't hard finding a spot on the grass and  it was really fun to people watch.

My cute kids.

When it started to get dark we pulled out the glowsticks.

Jason went to go check out the scene later and saw the paramedics giving someone CPR. They were doing it for about a half hour and then right before the firework show started they loaded the guy up in the ambulance and drove away without the sirens. I am guessing it didn't go so well. I feel horrible for that man's family.

The fireworks have begun!

I was worried about how Milo would react to the loud booms but he didn't even flinch. He just stared at the fireworks mesmerized for a while then decided he was tired and fell asleep. Angel baby.

Cooper decided to hang out in the stroller with the shade covering him, peeking out at the fireworks periodically. Silly boy.

The finale!

It was a fantastic first year and I think we will definitely try to come back next year if we don't go up to Brigham City instead. Even the wait getting out of the parking lot wasn't bad. Very fun day!
