I love getting the kids cute 4th of July outfits every year so I like to go out and do something in public so they can be seen. This year was much more low-key and we didn't end up doing much. It was really too hot to do anything that didn't involve water and Jason spent the night at the sand dunes with Scott, Chris, and Kaden the night before so he was exhausted when he rolled in at about noon.
The boys did go play at Calvin's (our neighbor and their best friend) house in the morning. They came back with nametags that Carly (Calvin's older sister) made for them. The next day when they wanted to play with Calvin again Cooper started looking for his nametag. I explained that he did not need to wear it every time he went to play. It made me laugh.
Tessa playing with her roly-poly friend.
Since we didn't end up going anywhere with their patriotic outfits on, I had to get at least a few pictures to document them. I asked the boys to lay in the grass and they both immediately put their hands behind their heads. I guess twins do think alike. ;)
Bennett left, Cooper right
Tessa has some crazy hair because she just woke up from a nap. But I think they look cute anyway.
Bennett, Tessa, Cooper (Cooper's facial expression cracks me up.)
I really wish this picture wasn't blurry because I love the genuine happiness portrayed.
After Jason was able to get a nap we decided to check out the new splash pad in Bluffdale. Apparently we weren't the only ones with this idea. It was CROWDED. I am really grateful that Jason was there so I had a second pair of eyes to keep track of the kids.
Tessa enjoying the fountains.
Bennett being brave and attempting to stand in the middle
Jason showing him how it is done.
It is so hard to keep a two year old from drinking the nasty water.
The only picture I have of Cooper playing. He was usually off doing his own thing and was too fast for me to capture a picture.
Proof that I was there too since Jason never thinks to take pictures. :)
They also had a really fun park with swings and super tall slides and ziplines that the kids really wanted to play on the whole time. We had to convince them to play in the water because it was way too hot to spend much time outside of the water. But as we were heading out we let them use the ziplines a few times.

Tessa
I didn't get a good picture of Cooper riding the zipline but he was really cute insisting that he bring it back up to the next person all by himself.
My three cuties.
The neighborhood Circle of Fire was at our cul-de-sac that night. Jason was quite popular with the younger crowd...
Bennett and his sparkler. He licked off blue frosting from a cupcake earlier, hence the blue mouth.
Tessa enjoying a cupcake. I like the little dot of frosting on her nose.
Jason helping Cooper light his sparkler.
Half the cul-de-sac. The other half look similar. We had a pretty good turn out.
Once the kids were done with the smaller fireworks and it got a little darker outside, the big fireworks were brought out.
Around 10 pm Tessa started begging to go bed. "Want to go 'night 'night, Momma." It's hard to say no to a two year old actually WANTING to go to bed, so we called it a night.
